"No Other Choice," the latest film by director Park Chan-wook, and "Golden," the hit song from the global animated blockbuster "KPop Demon Hunters," are on the nomination shortlist for the Academy Awards of the U.S.

The California-based Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which hosts the Oscars, on Dec. 16 announced the list for the awards' 12 categories.

Starring actor Lee Byung-hun, "No Other Choice" was among the preliminary candidates for Best International Feature Film.

Fifteen films made the list in this category among submissions from 86 countries including Korea.

"Golden" from "KPop Demon Hunters" got a nod for Best Original Song.

The final nomination list comes on Dec. 22. The awards ceremony is slated for March 15 in Los Angeles.
